Today, we got to meet Noelle, one of the three high-fidelity mannequins (and her infant) that students in Nursing (and Allied Health programs!) work with to simulate childbirth. Students in the Nursing program are using practical, hands on skills from their first semester and throughout their entire education with the help of simulators such as Noelle.
While we weren’t proud “mamas” and “papas” in the simulated delivery room, we are definitely proud of the fact that our students are getting quality, practical, evidence-based education. Did you know that our 7-bed simulation hospital has a student-to-faculty ratio of 2:1? That’s pretty awesome - getting personal attention from dedicated faculty in a high-tech setting. That’s what Washburn is all about.
